Sam be jammin'

We had a great time at a local parent and teacher educational store's grand re-opening recently. There were all sorts of freebies like food and Playmobil t-shirts and key chains but the best part, by far, was the live music. We were graced with the opportunity to take in the sounds of The Big Mess, as well as play right along with them!

Sam has taken to human beat boxing over the last few months and so it was a thrill for him to spend some time up close with such a talented vocal artist and even be part of the performance.

Sam beat out a steady and bold rhythm while Voxman Kyle improvised a fantastic vocal accompaniment for him. Since then, Sam has kept up with his random and spontaneous vocal sounds while playing, eating, bathing, riding his bike.... and I can't help but wonder how far he might go with it, knowing Kyle started out his age as well.

There was also an opportunity to get creative at the Playmais table - a product we've never used before. The boys made animals and people and trees and were happy to know they'd be able to take their creations home with them.

I'm sure we can get the same enjoyment out of our homemade (non-corn-or-chemical-based) play dough, so I think we'll pass on buying any of this stuff. It was a neat experience to try it at least.
